As part of that goal we are here to help you play better golf.  All of our instructional classes are taught and supervised by experienced golf professionals. Our instructors strive to create both a fun and comfortable atmosphere, while at the same time providing quality instruction to each of our students. Experience, understanding and an ability to relate to people of all abilities are qualities possessed by all of our instructors.

Cameron Morton – Head P.G.A. Professional

Cameron came to Lake Valley in March of 2015 from the Ranch Country Club (Westminster) where he was the 1st Assistant Golf Professional for 7 years. He has a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs where he completed his Professional Golf Management program and earned his PGA Class A status. Cameron is an avid reader of books on teaching, golf instruction, leadership and motivation, and is one of only 5% of PGA professionals who is certified by the PGA in any area. He holds certifications in Golf Operations, General Management, Teaching/Coaching and is currently pursuing certification in the final distinction which is player development.

Jeff McNair – Assistant Golf Professional

Jeff joined the Lake Valley team in May 2015. After completing his second Bachelor’s Degree, a B.S. in Horticulture/Turfgrass from Colorado State University he worked as an Assistant Superintendent during the grow-in at Harmony Club outside Fort Collins. After five years on the turf side Jeff shifted his focus towards becoming a Class A PGA Professional and worked another three years at Harmony as Outside Operations Manager and Assistant Golf Professional.  Jeff is a Certified Club Fitter for Callaway and Ping. A motivated learner, he has also completed AimPoint Express and Eyeline Golf Putting Certification. He enjoys helping students of all ages have more fun and shoot lower scores by utilizing the latest technology in concert with sound fundamentals.  Jeff is an avid outdoorsman who loves living in Colorado with his wife Angela and two sons, Lochlan and Graham.

Tyler Winslow – Assistant Golf Professional

Tyler’s history with Lake Valley dates back to when he was a student at Niwot High School and a member of the Club. That introduction to the Club was followed by an internship in our Golf Shop in the summer of 2012.  Soon thereafter he began playing competitively in college for CSU-Pueblo a top tier NCAA Division II golf program.  Following a transfer to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Tyler moved to Arizona and played golf professionally for two years while also working in various areas at Kierland Golf Resort in Phoenix.  In April of 2015,  Tyler returned to Lake Valley as an Apprentice Golf Professional and he is now progressing through the Class A PGA Professional program.  Tyler seeks to learn more about both the business and game of golf every day.  Through hard work, dedication and the use of his ever developing interpersonal skills, his goal is to use his vast playing experience and a fresh and imaginative perspective on the game to help others play their best and enjoy the sport he so dearly loves.

Eric Hejl – Assistant Professional

Eric started here in the spring of 2017 after recently moving to the Front Range from Rangely, Colorado where he worked as an assistant basketball coach as well as an assistant professional at the local golf club.  He and his wife Marian live in Jamestown with their pet family and are thoroughly enjoying themselves on this side of the continental divide.  Eric is currently enrolled in the PGA of America’s Class A program and is also the Head Basketball coach for Niwot High School.  If he is not busy with work here at the Club or with his coaching responsibilities you will often times find him enjoying a round on the course.  His ball flight is like nothing you have ever seen before and if we are ever entering a drought we just ask him to hit a couple of drivers.  Next time you see him on the course play a few holes with him and you will see why!

Johnie Romero – Outside Service Professional

Johnie is in his 7th year at the Club and is one of the best employees we will ever find.  He is an amazingly hard worker and there to help our members in any way he can.  Johnie’s professional career took many different turns and ultimately landed him in Colorado.  He worked for the police department for 6 years, at McGuckin’s in Boulder on the weekends, and then 21 years at Niwot High School working for the school district.  He is now retired and enjoying sunny days at the Club with a cigar in his hand.

Brandon Smith – Outside Service Professional

Brandon arrived at Lake Valley in the spring of 2016 and has been nothing short of an exceptional member of the team.  He is currently pursuing an associates degree at Front Range Community College and hopes to someday pass his playing ability test and enroll in the PGA of America’s Class A program.  He is a great golfer and an even better person.  If he is not working you will almost certainly find him practicing his short game or playing a round of golf.  We look forward to what the future has in store for Brandon at the Club.
